Soon after that, the remaining members of the team start having symptoms as well, and all of them are getting worse. They come across a child, implied to be Chouji, and initially wanted to capture him to act as their guide, but was assumed to have given up on the idea due to Chouji being safe when we first meet him. This was also the first sign that the writer has become infected by the curse, when he stated that he's suddenly getting symptoms which are sudden bleeding, weakness, nausea, and nightmares. It is implied that the team has been gathering the loot that the pirates had pillaged after they had slain them. The team initially went around the beaches, particularly Nazuchi Beach, to search for pirates. It is implied that Kujou Sara's rise to power was due to her older brother eventually getting disfavored by the Clan due to this reluctance. The writer implied that the Kujou Clan does not believe rumors of the disease and were deeply dissatisfied with Masahito's behavior. The team was tasked by the Kujou Clan to infiltrate the island due to Kujou Masahito, the eldest son of the Clan Head, withdrawing his forces from Yashiori due to his forces being decimated, not by the rebel forces, but a curse called the Tatarigami. Their mission was to infiltrate Yashiori Island, eliminate deserters, eliminate the pirates that roam the beaches, all in an effort to convince Kujou Masahito to resume his conquest of the island.
The small team of five is comprised of Gongozaemon, Suzuno, Kanemoto, Yamada, and the unnamed writer of the diary. The texts are basically pages from the diary of a Kanjou Comission soldier who was tasked into investigating Yashiori Island along with a small team. The Lost Text is a hidden treasure-hunt that rewards you with a chest and a little bit more Yashiori Island lore. I may be missing some details because I haven't fully explored the islands yet, so please bear with any mistakes I made.
